[It's hard to admit since. He still kind of wants to beat the shit out of a few people.]

...I may have spoken out of turn there, though. Ichigo and Makoto were closer to Akira. He probably should have been the one to decide.

You can decide to forgive him for yourself. And Akira can decide for his part. And I can decide for mine, and I don't forgive him.

[He can't. Not with how brutal it was.]

But I'm glad you did, I guess. I woke up this morning wishing I'd killed him myself, before he could do something so awful, but once again you changed my mind on it. It woulda just hurt somebody else, somebody I don't want hurt, and next week they'd come after me and mine, wouldn't they?

That's generally how it goes, yes.

I should have spoken up sooner though. He went after Ichigo and Makoto because he thought Akira had killed his friends. ...mmm, but that would have just put Alex and Vanitas in danger instead, then.

I don't think his grudge against Akira was exactly rational, either. I think he lost people he cared about, and hated that Akira was still around, having people care about him.

I dunno if there was anything we could've done, short of catch him at night. And if we'd done that, I think I'd have killed him then and there.

Honestly, if I had, I would have done the same.

[That's partially what happened with Chuuya, after all.]

But that's just feeding into the whole revenge thing again, isn't it?

Yeah. I think that's right. It's hard, though. What he did was so awful.

[Not just to Ichigo and Makoto and Akira. To Mary, too.]
